Thank you for visiting OBXLiveSurf.com. From the time we launched our first site, WBLiveSurf.com, on April 10, 2003 we have received thousands of compliments and emails which have been so rewarding and a driving force for consistency. Our dream of having a local surfing website based on a philosophy of "A Family of Surfers Supporting Surfers" has become a reality for our local and surrounding communities. From the first day I started surfing in the early 80's, the surfing culture and lifestyle have been my life and it consumes every bit of my soul. I love helping others experience a day in the life of being a surfer through a great website designed to provide them with the information they want and need.

The reason our site is successful is that we actually check the waves with our feet in the sand. We update the site in person 2-4 times daily, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year with daily photos to prove it. Hard work, consistency, and dedication to a surfing lifestyle and community make this site successful, unique, and fresh.

OBXLiveSurf.com will be reported by Rodanthe Surf Shop. In the beginning, the surf shop was started in the front living room and bedroom of Randy's and Debbie's house. It complimented making custom Hatteras Glass surfboards which Randy has been doing since 1989. Over the years, the shop expanded and became a free standing shop in 1995; which is right beside the original location in Rodanthe. Debbie is the perfect fit for doing the reports in the OBX and she will be giving you the inside scoop on when the surf is good or bad. Be sure to stop by and say hello to them when traveling by for a session.
